Sonntag, 26. April 2015 - das Erdbeben in Kathmandu – erste Fotos

Die Nachrichten sind nach wie vor sehr spärlich – die folgende Mail kam heute von unserem Freund Manisch Karki, der auch einige aktuelle Fotos schicken konnte.

"Thank you for your care and love for us.Yes,we are safe, all the teachers are also safe so far. We dont know about the Situation of all our students but our school building has suffered a lot of damage, specially on its Walls. But the good thing is that the pillars, frames and the main structure looks OK yet to be confirmed by Engineer.

Yesterday we were hit by a massive earthquake. The duration was long. The first earthquake hit us for around 2 minutes and the second and the third and a lot. Yesterday only the eathquake's aftershock came for more than 15 times. First two shockes were really strong that made our house shake left to right.

Yesterday at night also it re-occur for around 7 times. We camped on an open field outside of the house.Today only 2 small shocks were experienced but for small duration of time and not as big as Yesterday.

There is no electricity and a lot of old houses has gone down in Naikap, Satungal, Macchegaun, Dahachowk and near by. About 45 lost their life near by Naikap only but those of our relatives and friends are safe so far. About 1900 are dead already in Nepal. Bhaktapur is destroyed.It is a big sorrow for Nepal.
